Sensitest FSHTestkit – Self-test for menopause
A rapid test for the qualitative detection of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) in a human urine sample.
The FSH Rapid Test Cassette (Urine) is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) in
urine as an aid in diagnosing menopause.
Menopause is the permanent cessation of menstruation, but is usually not scientifically diagnosed until one year after a woman's
menstrual cycle has stopped. The period leading up to menopause, and the 12 months after, is called perimenopause. Many
women experience symptoms during this period such as hot flashes, irregular menstrual cycles, sleep disturbances, vaginal dryness, hair loss,
anxiety and mood swings, short-term memory problems, and fatigue. The onset of perimenopause is caused by
changes in the hormone levels that regulate the menstrual cycle in the female body. As the body produces less and less estrogen,
it increases the production of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), which normally regulates the development of female eggs.
Therefore, testing for FSH can help determine whether a woman is in perimenopause.
