Cleartest® D-Dimer 5 tests
Rapid test for the qualitative detection of D-dimer in whole blood, capillary blood or plasma, no EDTA blood!
Cleavage of the protein fibrin, which has a decisive significance for plasmatic blood clotting, produces the product D-dimer. This test makes it possible to detect a pulmonary embolism (PE), deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or disseminated intravascular coagulopathy (DIC).
The detection limit is 80 ng / ml.
Evaluation exactly after 10 minutes. Store at 2-30 ° C.
Quick Reference Guide.
Lancets not included.
NHG Standard Deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism
Decision rule Pulmonary embolism:
1. | Kl inische signs of deep vein thrombosis (at least swelling, and pain on palpation) | 3 |
2. | Pulmonary embolism more likely than alternative diagnosis | 3 |
3. | H art frequency higher than 100 / min | 1.5 |
4. | I mmobilisatie (at least 3 days) or operation in previous 4 weeks | 1.5 |
5. | History of DVT or pulmonary embolism
| 1.5 |
6. | H emoptoe | 1 |
7. | M alignment (up to 6 months after last treatment or during palliation) | 1 |
Decision rule and risk score (First-line decision rule DVT)
1. | Male gender | 1 |
2. | Use systemic estrogens (such as birth control pills, hormone ring / patch, or contraceptive injection | 1 |
3. | Presence of malignancy
| 1 |
4. | Ope ration undergone in the last month
| 1 |
5. | Absence of trauma explaining calf swelling
| 1 |
6. | Expanded veins of the leg | 1 |
7. | Difference in maximum calf circumference ≥ 3 cm | 1 |
Score ≤ 3: not increased, determine D-dimer
Score ≥ 4: increased, request ultrasound of the leg.
Cleartest D-dimer
Open the foil package and place the test device on a clean and flat surface.
Best results are obtained if the test is performed immediately after opening the foil pouch.
Take fingerstick blood sample: Wash patient's hand with soap and warm water or clean with alcohol and allow to dry. Without touching the puncture site, massage the hand by rubbing the side towards the fingertip of the middle or ring finger. Pierce the skin with a sterile lancet. Wipe off the first blood. A venous sample can be taken as an alternative.
Hold the supplied pipette horizontal and draw up enough blood for the test.
Drop 2 hanging drops of whole blood (approximately 40 μl) in the middle of the test. Immediately add 1 drop of buffer solution, start the timer.
Leave the test device horizontally and wait for the colored line (s) to appear. Read result after 10 minutes (although positive results can often be seen earlier).
Do not interpret results later than 15 minutes.
Pulmonary embolism
Pulmonary embolism risk score not increased (≤ 4) and D-dimer negative or normal: pulmonary embolism sufficiently excluded.
Risk score for pulmonary embolism increased (≥ 4.5) or D-dimer positive or increased: risk of pulmonary embolism increased; refer immediately to an internist or pulmonologist.
DVT
Risk score DVT not increased (≤ 3) and D-dimer negative or normal: DVT sufficiently excluded.
Risk score DVT increased (≥ 4) or D-dimer positive or increased: request a 2-point compression ultrasound on the same day and indicate how the radiologist can reach the GP (or GP station).
